RYSA 98 Lady Revs Travel to England

The 98 Lady Revs along with two from the U-14 and three from the U-19 team just returned from an eight day trip to London and Wolverhampton in the West Midlands.  The trip was full of sightseeing and training.

The trip started in London where they spent two and a half days.  They had the opportunity to train with the West Ham United club coaches in London.  They played a game against the U-16’s from West Ham.  While in London, they stayed at the West Ham stadium hotel.  They were given a tour through the stadium that included the locker room, training room, and even got to step out on the pitch.  Very few people have been allowed to actually step onto the pitch, so this was a big bonus for the girls to have this opportunity.   While in London, sightseeing included a river boat cruise on the River Thames, a ride on the London Eye, and the chance to see Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, and the Tower of London.  They even got to do a little shopping while there.

After a fun-filled time in London, they boarded the bus to Wolverhampton to train with the coaches at the Wolverhampton Academy.  They had two sessions with the coaches there and played two matches against two different girl’s teams from Wolverhampton.  They were given a tour of the Wolves Stadium.  The sightseeing while there included a tour of Manchester United stadium.  The girls were taken into the locker room as well as  out through the player’s ramp onto the pitch.  They had their picture taken sitting in the players’ seats in the stadium.  What an experience it was.  The tour was topped off with a little shopping in the Manchester United gift shop!  Once they left the Man-U stadium, it was off to see a real live futbol match.  They had tickets to see Liverpool vs. Zenit.  Wow, was it intense.  They had an awesome time.  The trip was completed by a trip to and tour of Cadbury World.  More chocolate than anyone could dream of.

They all had a great time as did their chaperones.  Their guides, Reis and Jacqui from GIS were awesome and the girls hated to say goodbye to them.  The trip was great and they would recommend it to any and all teams at RYSA.
